FuRyu’s The Alliance Alive was an interesting JRPG that released on the Nintendo 3DS well into the point when some people were unwilling to buy anything on a Nintendo handheld if it wasn’t on Switch. I liked it a lot on Nintendo 3DS and it fixed most of the problems I had with The Legend of Legacy which was also by FuRyu. Atlus West (Atlus USA at the time) localised both games on Nintendo 3DS. In October 2019, The Alliance Alive HD Remastered came to Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Steam as an HD remaster of the Nintendo 3DS game with enhancements and improvements published by NIS America. Shaun reviewed the Nintendo Switch version and had a lot of good things to say about it. Read his review here. Today, FuRyu announced an iOS and Android release of The Alliance Alive HD Remastered for Japan. Watch the trailer for the mobile release below:

I still haven’t played much of The Alliance Alive HD Remastered on Nintendo Switch or Steam so this mobile release would be good to have if it ever gets localised. Masashi Hamauzu’s (Final Fantasy XIII) music was definitely a highlight. As of now, The Alliance Alive HD Remastered on iOS and Android has only been announced for Japan. It is available to pre-order at a 32% off discount right now on the App Store. The regular price 3,420 Yen which is about $33. I’m interested to see how it ends up looking and running compared to the Nintendo Switch version for the most part. If you’d like to check the Japanese release out, you can pre-order it on the App Store for iOS here and Google Play for Android here. The game is compatible with iPhone 7 and later and requires 5GB of space. More device requirements and recommendations are on the official website. Check out the official game website here and Steam page for The Alliance Alive HD Remastered here. The App Store lists a January 25, 2021 release date but FuRyu is yet to announce a release date for this port. Have you played The Alliance Alive HD Remastered or the original game yet?
